(POST) COLONIAL REMEMBRANCE (POLICY) IN EUROPEAN SOCIETIES OF IMMIGRATION:PERSPECTIVES OF A COSMOPOLITAN EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION

The study focuses on the German example of post-colonial migration and remembrance (policy) and locates it in the context of post-colonial migration and remembrance (policy) in the former colonizing countries in present Europe. The study concentrates primarily on post-colonialism in relationship to the African continent for two reasons: first of all the German colonial rule primarily affected Africa; secondly the present EU view of immigration from the neighboring continent of Africa has to cope with a special responsibility to respect human rights and the rights of citizens.
